“I thank my God, making mention of thee in my prayers, hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints; that the communication of your faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” – Philemon 1:4-6
LIGHT FOR NOW: Knowing who you are equips you to live naturally in it.
In the course of this study, we have come to establish that outside Christ the believer cannot know Himself. The identity of the believer is in Christ and it is only in Christ that he can know himself. Just like the revelation of Jesus was not subjected to public opinion, the revelation of the believer or the unveiling of the believer in the revelation of Jesus is not also subject to public opinion. So no one can know the believer in Christ by how he thinks, feels or better still from his human perception, you can only know the man in Christ by revelation and this revelation is in the unveiling of Christ in the written word. So for the born again man to understand himself, he has to first of all understand Christ because it is in the understanding of Christ that he can understand himself. If the believer in Christ is less of the revelation of Christ, then he is less of the revelation of himself. How much of Christ you know will be equivalent to how much of yourself you know. Simply, if you don’t know Jesus, you cannot know yourself.
The believer is unveiled in the revelation of Jesus. God is demystified in the revelation of Jesus and Satan is exposed in the revelation. The revelation of Jesus is the fabric in all of these. If you miss it at the revelation of Jesus, then you have actually missed it because the absence of it will:
- Make God mysterious
- Make you veiled
- Make Satan still hidden
It all starts at the revelation of Jesus. That is why He is the subject matter of the bible. He is the message of the bible. That is why the bible is Jesus’ book; it is Jesus’ story. Jesus is the explanation of all things. As it concerns the believer’s identity, the believer cannot naturally walk in it if it is not revealed to him. The revelation of the believer’s identity in Christ equips him to walk in it with ease or naturally. You cannot walk fully in what you have not known. Thus, the believer has to know himself fully in order to walk in it fully. Hallelujah!
INSTRUCTION: Don’t miss it at the revelation of Jesus.
PRAYER: Father, I declare that my eyes are opened to know Jesus from the scriptures and in Him come to the full understanding of myself in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: Jesus is the climax of revelation.
