“Not that any man hath seen the father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the father” – John 6:46
LIGHT FOR NOW: where the revelation of the Father is concerned, look at the Son.
Jesus in His words in the synoptic accounts always referred to God as Father, and moreover, lets us know that the complete, precise, exact, accurate and total revelation of the father is found in the Son (in Him). Let us consider some overwhelming evidences in scriptures as documented in the synoptic accounts. “And he said unto them that sold doves, take these things hence; make not my father’s house an house of merchandise” (John 2:16). “But Jesus answered them, My father worketh hitherto, and I work” (John 5:17). “Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the father” (John 4:46). “I and my father are one” (John 10:30). “All things are delivered unto me of my father: and no man knoweth the son, but the father; neither knoweth any man the father, save the son, and he to whomsoever the son will reveal him” (Matthew 11:27). “All things are delivered unto me of my father; and no man knoweth who the son is, but the father; and who the father is, but the son, and he to whom will reveal him” (Luke 10:22). Therefore, from the above scriptures, we can deduce that the perfect revelation of the Father is found in the Son.
Jesus’ words in John 14 gives us a more clearer understanding: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me…Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the father; and how sayest thou then show us the father?” (John 14:6, 9). Observe the word, ‘cometh’ used in verse 6 of John 14. This word, ‘’cometh’ was translated from the Greek word, ‘erchomai’ which implies to access or to view. In other words, the view of God (the Father) must be in Christ Jesus (the Son). That is, God is viewed in Christ; God is known in Christ; God is seen in Christ and God is explained in Christ. Thus, the son declared the father. Therefore, the revelation of the Father is found only in the Son, same way the revelation of the Son is given by the Father. In other words, to know God precisely or accurately, know Jesus precisely or accurately. Meaning, outside of Jesus, a man cannot know God because the entirety of God’s revelation (what God does, what God doesn’t do and who God is and is not) is encapsulated in the person of Jesus. Therefore, the person of Jesus unveils God to us. Hallelujah!!!
INSTRUCTION: To know God; know Jesus.
PRAYER: Thank you Father for the revelation of you encapsulated in the person of Christ by whose revelation, I am unveiled, in Jesus name, Amen.
QUOTE: You cannot afford to be deficient of the revelation of Christ and aim to be sufficient of the revelation of God
