FAITH IN CHRIST (PART THREE)

LIGHT FOR NOW: Jesus is the message and nothing more.

The message of the Bible is the message of Christ. The gospel we are to preach is the gospel of Christ. The understanding we are to have from the scriptures is the understanding of Christ. Therefore, the focus of the writings of the Book called the Bible (Genesis to Revelation) is Christ Jesus. If you misunderstand this fact, then you cannot understand the Bible. You will approach the Bible as any other kind of book with different subject matters. The subject matter of the Bible is Christ; if you take away Christ from the Bible, then we do not have any Bible to read any longer. If you remove Christ (who is the message of the Bible) from the Bible, then the bible is no different from the story book you have at home. What makes the Bible separate, distinct or different from any kind of writing is its sacredness; it is a set apart book whose message is centered upon the person of Christ and in the understanding of that message comes the unveiling of the believer in Christ, the explanation of God in Christ and lots more. It is one message (Christ Jesus) and within this one message comes the unveiling of different concepts like eternal life, salvation, forgiveness of sins, righteousness, justification, God’s character revealed etc. it is like one message with many branches; the different branches are in this one message and thus you cannot understand these different branches outside this one message.

Thus, Bible study will be the study of Christ. Bible study will thus be Christology. Theology will be Christology or Christology is theology. Therefore, our study of the Bible (the Old Testament and the New Testament) must be founded on Christology and it is only Christology that best unveils or explains theology.
Therefore, our study of the Bible (the Old Testament and the New Testament) must be founded on Christology. It is only Christology that best explains or unveils theology. Any theology outside Christology is just man’s ideology. You cannot aim to know theology outside of Christology or you will be creating your own ideology. The Bible is Christ centered and thus must be read with the binoculars of Christ. if you do not know Jesus, you don’t know the Bible. If you are insufficient of the revelation of Jesus in the New Testament which unveils Him in the Old Testament, then you cannot sufficiently unveil Jesus in the Old Testament. And don’t forget, faith in Christ unveils the Old Testament. Jesus is the reason for the Bible. It is not ten steps to success, 35 pillars of breakthrough, nor uncommon sacrifice for uncommon breakthrough, it is not raising billionaires who will be richer than the richest men in the world (we have billionaires who have not even read the Bible talkless of believing in Jesus but they have billions. The brain you have is your billions or what will produce billions for you and not the Bible. Engage your brain into productive things and stop fasting and praying for what the believer has without fasting and prayers. The message of the Bible is not raising end time billionaires. No! The message of the Bible is Christ with which the believers’ realities (spiritual realities) are unveiled. Don’t read the Bible because you want an alert in your phone, hence you will be reading it with a covetous mindset and miss out of the revelation communicated by the author in such a text of scripture. If you only read your Bible when you have problems, you will make the Bible say what it is not saying. Bible study is a deliberate study of Christ from the scriptures and missing out of this is missing out of the revelation of the scriptures itself.

INSTRUCTION: You must study Jesus when you are studying the Bible.

Prayer: The eyes of my understanding is enlightened, in Jesus Name!

QUOTE: The study of the Bible is the study of Jesus.
