THE SUBSTITUTIONARY WORK OF CHRIST FOR US

How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote in few words, whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ” – Ephesians 3:3-4

LIGHT FOR NOW: Christ became our substitute

It is by Apostle Paul that believers in Christ understand what Christ did for them in His great substitution. Apostle Paul speaking in 1Timothy 1:14-15 says, “And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief”. Here, the Apostle Paul clearly told us what Jesus Christ came to do which is to save men from sin. Also, Prophet Isaiah speaking in Isaiah 53:4-6 says, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all

Christ took our place in death and made us free. He satisfied the claim of justice against us. He did not deserve to die. We were to die for our sins but Christ took our place in death and gave us His life. This is the reason the greatest love is divinity taking up humanity through virginity to save us from sin. There is no creation as powerful as the new creation – God becoming man and man becoming God. The goodnews is that Christ ended the power of sin and death. As believers in Christ Jesus, we now have a right standing with God. God is no longer angry with us neither is God against us, rather, He is taking sides with us having taken up residence in us. Hallelujah!!!

INSTRUCTION: Always meditate on what Christ has done for you.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for the salvation of my soul, in Jesus Name!
