LIGHT FOR NOW: A gift is of no benefit until you make use of it.
There is no exclusion from the gift of God to men. Salvation is for everyone who believes in Christ Jesus. Nobody is excluded from the salvation plan of God because the Bible tells us that salvation or eternal life is a free gift of God to humanity. God saw the helplessness and frustration of man, and He became a man in order to save man. This is the great mystery. How God became man and man became God. God in human form is what is called Christ. So Jesus Christ who is God in human form is God’s free gift to man. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). But, even though salvation or eternal life is a gift, if you do not take advantage of the gift, it will still remain useless to you. Just imagine that your father pointed at a house or a car and tells you that he has given it to you as a gift, but if you never cared to take possession or advantage of the gift, it will be of no benefit to you.
This is why we must take advantage of the gift of God to us which is Christ. Galatians 1:3-4 says, “Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father”. We receive this free gift of God by confessing with our mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believing in our heart that God raised him from the dead. It is only by acknowledging the Lordship of Christ over your life by your positive confession of your faith in Christ that you can take advantage of this gift of God to mankind. Salvation is a free gift but you must accept the gift for it to profit you.
INSTRUCTION: Take advantage of the gift of salvation.
PRAYER: Father, I believe in my heart and i confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life. Therefore, i activate the gift of eternal life in me. Eternal life is at work in me, in Jesus Name. Amen.
