JESUS DID IT ALL JUST FOR ME (27)

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. – Isaiah 53:3-7

LIGHT FOR NOW: God had mankind in view before mankind was created.

In our previous study, we saw clearly that redemption will not be because man deserved it, merited it or demanded for it; redemption will be because God loves man. Redemption will not be an answer to man’s demand or cry for help; redemption will be the answer before man ever thought of crying out of help. In other words, God di not save man because man deserve it; God did not save man  because man asked for it or demanded for it; God did not even save man because man promised to believe in him; rather, what we see in redemption is a show or display of God’s love for a sinful man or sinful humanity. That humanity is the depth of his sin; God accommodated sinful humanity in the depth of his sin in the depth of his love. The depth of God’s love was higher and deeper than the depth of man’s sin; hence, the depth of man’s sin was swallowed in the depth of his love.

In fact, between man’s sin and God’s love, which one is older than the other? God’s love is older than man’s sin. God’s love preceded man’s sin. It is in Genesis 3 that man fell, but it is in Genesis 1 that God accommodated Genesis 3. So the fall of man came to meet the love of God; the love of God did not come to meet the fall of man. Again, this points to you the fact of a God that does not react or pro-acts. He was not taken unaware by man’s choice, he knew man’s choice (he did not influence that choice) but he accommodated that choice in his plan. He knew that man will sin, he did not plan for man to sin but he accommodate the sin of man in his plan. Man’s sin was not his plan, but man’s sin was accommodated in his plan. What a loving God he is; a God who loves humanity independent of humanity. God loves me. Jesus did it all for me. I am the object of God’s love. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Never lose sight of the fact that God loves you.

PRAYER: Thank you dear Lord for your unconditional love revealed in your son Jesus Christ, Amen.
