“I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” – Philemon 1:4-6
LIGHT FOR NOW: Ministers of the gospel needs the prayers of believers, and scriptures are replete on this.
The believer needs revelation knowledge and the epistles give instructions as to how to pray for every believer. Philippians 1:9-11 “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of our God”. Colossians 1:9-11 “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness”.
Paul consistently prayed that they are full of knowledge, because our fellowship becomes more effective only when we have a precise understanding of who we are in Christ, what we have in Christ and what Christ can do through us. The writer of the book of Hebrews wrote in the same breath as Peter and Paul. Hebrews 13:20-21 “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen”. We pray for believers to grow in every good work, such that they walk in God’s plan and purpose, are strengthened and effective. Glory!
