GOD’S SPIRIT DWELLS IN YOU (21)

“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God” – Romans 8:9-16

LIGHT FOR NOW: We are God’s abode; God’s habitation is in the new creation.

The born again man is God’s temple; he is God’s abode or sanctuary, and God has made a permanent home in him. 1Corinthians 3:16 “Don’t you realize that together you have become God’s inner sanctuary and that the Spirit of God makes his permanent home in you?”  (TPT). 1Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (KJV). Paul echoes same truth in chapter 6; 1Corinthians 6:19 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”. The word temple is used to describe where one dwells or stays permanently.
Paul also referred to believers collectively as the habitation of God through the spirit, that is, where the spirit is and this is based on the fact that individually the spirit lives in each of us (as we had written in Ephesians 1:13). Ephesians 2:22 “In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit”. So, we are God’s habitation. We are God’s holy of holies – God’s dwelling place forever. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: You are God’s holy of holies forever – acknowledge this.

CONFESSION: I am God’s temple – his holy of holies – He lives on my inside for eternity, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: The born again man is the habitation of God.
