“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things” – Matthew 6:25-26, 31-32
LIGHT FOR NOW: Men and women who are always in a haste or in a hurry easily miss it in life.
The bible teaches against haste. In fact, the bible has never been in support of anything done quickly. Patience controls your life. Isaiah 28:16 “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste”. In the New Testament it says “the righteous shall not seek for other foundations”. You see we keep looking for other options. We are in a hurry, and in most of the hurry and haste we get out of God’s plan for our lives. “It is better to be a little bit slower than God than to be faster than Him”.
Most of the times when we are in a hurry we destroy relationships. In life, to fulfill God’s plan for your life, the number one ingredient is not prayer, it’s not the inward witness. It is respecting the supernatural relationships that God has put in your life. They are people God has brought you to be in a relationship with that being in haste will cause you most of the time to miss out on those relationships. Sometimes, you are faced with societal and family pressures. That pressure sometimes comes from church but you must never be in a hurry.
• Never be in a hurry to achieve. Achievement is not fulfillment.
• Never be in a hurry to make money. Many people have the call of God upon their lives but they have lost it because of money.
Proverbs 28:20 “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent”. You will lose your innocence when you are in a hurry to make money. You will compromise. Proverbs 28:22 “He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him”. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Take things easy; take life easy. You are not in a rat-race.
CONFESSION: My life is navigated in the center of God’s will and plan for me. I don’t go ahead of God, God is ahead of me and I follow his leading, in Jesus Name, Amen
