“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things” – Matthew 6:25-26, 31-32
LIGHT FOR NOW: There is no duality in God’s character; neither could bipolarity be tracked from God’s personality. God is consistently constant in his character and nature.
Let’s get to observe Apostle James on this subject. James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him”. Often times, many believers get anxious as a result of misconceptions or misunderstanding about the character of God. God is a giving God and he is good. The Greek construction of this verse (James 1:5) has the adjective “giving” be God, like “Let him ask of the giving God”.
The word “giveth” as used by James implies an offering. It implies that in God’s character, he doesn’t ask for requirements but makes available. The word “liberally” implies “single-mindedness”. It is therefore clear that God is single-minded on giving. He will only give, expecting nothing in return. This means before we ask, God makes available. The word “upbraid” was translated from a word that implies to pre-qualify, to see faults. It is used for reproach, however God does not find fault or reject. So, the double-minded man knows that God gives liberally but goes on to have another view of God. Thus, James says to pray to the “Giving God” who doesn’t find fault. Hence, we must not have the picture of a God that you have to call on and cry on but to a God who is single-minded about giving and doesn’t find fault. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Your God who is your father is a giving God; think on this!
CONFESSION: I believer that God is good, He is a giving God, he does not find fault, He is light and in Him there is no darkness, in Jesus name, Amen.
QUOTE: God is consistent and constant in his character, He doesn’t have dual personalities.
