GIVE NO PLACE FOR ANXIETY AND WORRIES (22)

“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things” – Matthew 6:25-26, 31-32

LIGHT FOR NOW: The love of God for those he has begotten in his image is immeasurable and uncontestable.

We explored the words of Apostle in 1Peter 5:7 in last study and it was conclusively deduced after studying the context of his letter that the “all” Peter was referring to (in 1Peter 5:7) was in reference to suffering or being evil spoken of; for your conduct of love, goodness, honesty, submission in worldly affairs. He mentioned specific examples like being submissive to the civil authorities (1Peter 2:13-17), your boss and colleagues at the office (1Peter 2:18-20) and in your home with an unbelieving spouse (1Peter 3:1-8). Those where the “all cares” he spoke about to them. 1Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”.
He consistently admonished his audience to cast all unto God by not losing sight of God’s character, knowing that God cares (1Peter 5:7), God is faithful (1Peter 4:19), that his eyes are over them and his ears inclined to their prayers (1Peter 3:12). He adds that we are kept by the power of God (1Peter 1:5) and that Christ also suffered for us (1Peter 2:21-25). 1Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”. 1Peter 4:19 “Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator”. 1Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil”. 1Peter 1:5 “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time”.  Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge God’s love for you.

CONFESSION: My God is faithful and his eyes are over me. I am kept by his power. I believe that Christ suffered for my sins and for the sins of the whole world in love. Hence, I don’t fret, rather I cast my cares on Him, Amen

QUOTE: God’s consistent character towards his children is love.
