“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things” – Matthew 6:25-26, 31-32
LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer must let God’s word be his modus operandi as he charts the course of his life daily.
Paul’s words in Philippians 4 was vital to us in previous study; “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6). We began to look into the context to explain what things Paul was referring to. Paul admonished them to stand fast (Philippians 4:1), to rejoice in the Lord (Philippians 4:4) and to forebear or to be moderate (Philippians 4:5). Worthy of note is that Paul, who wrote this epistle from a prison cell acknowledged the fact that the same church prayed for his deliverance from persecution (Philippians 1:19; Philippians 2:12-14).
Therefore, when believers (leadership and membership) experience persecutions, trials, afflictions, and other contrary situations for the sake of the gospel, the apostolic instruction for us is to not be anxious, worried, or terrified for all those contrary situations but to pray for safety (preservation) of our lives and boldness to preach the gospel even more. At no point should the believer slip into;
- Doubt
- Fear
- Anxiety
- Unbelief and
- Worries
You are a child of God, born of the faith of God, so faith is your natural realm or environment. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Let your daily confessions be in agreement with God’s word over your life.
CONFESSION: We declare and affirm in faith over ministers of the gospel that they are delivered from wicked and unreasonable men; as a labourer in God’s vineyard, I am preserved from evil, and more boldness and utterance is given me to make manifest the saving grace of Christ in every place, in Jesus Name, Amen
QUOTE: The believer is born of the word of faith.
