GIVE NO PLACE FOR ANXIETY AND WORRIES (3)

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” – 1Peter 5:7

LIGHT FOR NOW: God delights in the success, prosperity and wellbeing of his own, he doesn’t want to see you fail neither does he delights in you being poor.

In our study today, we will seek to address some pertinent questions such as:
• Can a Christian want things?
• Is it unchristian/unholy to desire the good things of life?
• Is it possible to be prosperous yet godly?
• What is our father’s disposition towards wealth or our wellbeing in the earth?
To address the issues, we must first realize that nothing in the earth of its own self is evil or created by the devil. The bible affirms that all things were created by God and were created good, and to be received with thanksgiving. Genesis 1:31 “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day”. Psalms 24:1 “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein”. Furthermore, a vital component that makes us human or man is our will, that ability to make choices based on our individual needs or desires and for us as believers, in as much as we actively exist in this earth, the scripture equally acknowledges that we will have the same needs, wants or desires as the unsaved or unbelieving man.
It even goes further to let us know that our heavenly father knows that we have need of these things which to some could be a regular and satisfying provision of three square meals daily and to some others an exquisite vacation at a private beach or holiday resort. Matthew 6:32 “(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things”. So, yes the Christian man can want the good things of this life, it is not unchristian or unholy, he can be prosperous yet godly and he must never assume that poverty or wealth is an indication but must at all times acknowledge that his heavenly father cares for him and is concerned about his wellbeing. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: God cares for you; he wants the good things of life for you – think on this!

CONFESSION: I acknowledge that God is my father and he cares for his own. He daily meets my needs and cares for my wellbeing; I am father-conscious, not need-conscious, in Jesus name, Amen.

QUOTE: The believer must develop a father-conscious mentality above a need-conscious mentality.
