NOT UNDER THE LAW (31)

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”– Romans 3:19-24

LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer’s walk of faith begins in the spirit, continues in the spirit and finishes in the spirit.

We must not come to life by the spirit and now seek to grow up by the arm of the flesh. We must stick with the same diet. Paul calls such attempt foolishness to the churches of Galatia. Galatians 3:1-2 “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” To try to be justified by doing the works of the law is to be removed from Christ unto another. Such a person has been restricted by another gospel. His assurance of salvation has been shaken away from seeing Jesus as his perfect and only source of salvation, righteousness and justification before God. Romans 10:1-4 “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth”.
This was the errors of the Jews. They were seeking for righteousness and justification by the works of the law instead of in the person of Jesus. John 5:39-40 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life”. The judgment of sin under the law is death; but the gift of God in Christ is life eternal. Galatians 3:22 “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe”. The summary of the scriptures (Genesis to Malachi) is that all men are dead in sin, but a promise of life and salvation is made for them that believe in Christ in the same scriptures. Man was already dead. The law just made it more evident for all to see it so. Thus, the law exposed death in humanity. Romans 10:4 “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth”. I have righteousness now! Glory!

INSTRUCTION: You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus – Acknowledge this!

CONFESSION: I have come to the end of the law in Christ; I am declared righteous by his faith, in Jesus Name, Amen

QUOTE: In Christ Jesus, the works of the law comes to an end.
