“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”– Romans 3:19-24
LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer’s walk is by the spirit from start to finish.
Apostle Peter says in 1Peter 1:2-3 “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”. The foreknowledge of God is men’s “choice” in Christ. Men are called elect in Christ; that is, by faith in Christ Jesus, born again, to live by the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus’ death is our life; received by faith. Romans 6:17-18 “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness”. The form of doctrine will refer to the preaching and teaching of Christ; the gospel of Christ. Any man who has believed the gospel is freed from the slavery of sin and death; hence, the law for men under sin and death does not equally hold sway over him any longer.
It must be noted that: The attempt to mix the deeds of the law with Grace in Christ is an attempt to correct the simplicity in the gospel of Christ and to unsettle the faith of the believer. Such an attempt must be opposed and stopped by the preaching of sound doctrine. Galatians 3:3 “Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” We must not come to life by the spirit and now seek to grow up by the arm of the flesh. We must stick with the same diet. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: You’ve come to life by the spirit, and then don’t seek growth by the flesh.
CONFESSION: I am God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works – the Holy Spirit is my enablement, in Jesus Name, Amen
QUOTE: The Christian walk doesn’t start by the spirit and end in the flesh.
