NOT UNDER THE LAW (25)

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”– Romans 3:19-24

LIGHT FOR NOW: By faith in Christ upon which we became righteous, Abraham’s blessing became ours within microseconds at that moment.

Abraham had no law when the promise was given to him. His faith in what God promised was accounted to him for righteousness (Galatians 3:5-8). The same scriptures of the law spoke of righteousness and justification by faith before the law was given. The promise of God did not distinguish between men but was a blessing to all nations. Genesis 12:1-3 “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed”. The law came hundreds of years after Abraham believed and received righteousness by faith.
Galatians 3:17-19 “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator”. The law was an addendum, given by Moses till Christ should come. The coming of Christ is freedom from the law. So the blessing of Abraham is received by faith in Christ Jesus and not by the law. This blessing of Abraham is righteousness by faith. Genesis 15:6 “And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness”. That is the blessing; righteousness by faith Glory!

INSTRUCTION: The coming of Christ freed you from the law; acknowledge this truth.

CONFESSION: I have the blessing of Abraham; I’m a blessed child, righteous by faith in Christ Jesus, Amen

QUOTE: Righteousness by faith is the blessing of Abraham.
