“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”– Romans 3:19-24
LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer has the spirit of life; he has fulfilled the righteous requirements of the law by faith in Christ.
The believer in Christ has the love of God as his nature. He does not struggle to love; he is born of love and has the nature of love in Christ Jesus. Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”. With the nature of God, there is no longer a need for the law; we have the spirit of God as our guide. Galatians 5:18 “But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law”. We have been led by the spirit of Christ from the hold of sin and death into obedience and are alive. Romans 8:2, 4, 8-9 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”.
The believer is the one who has the spirit of life, and has fulfilled the righteousness of the law. We are of the spirit. We are alive from the dead. The law is for spiritually dead men who are under the hold of sin. The born again is not spiritually dead, he was raised from death to life at new birth; hence, the law no longer has a hold on the new man in Christ. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Stop trying to approach God or gain his audience through the works of the law, you are not spiritually dead any longer.
