HOW QUICKLY SHOULD I USE MY WORDS (12)

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” – Mark 11:22-24

LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer must learn to release words in agreement with God’s word regardless of what situation or circumstances say.

We saw in Mark 1:5 that the word “confession” in that case was translated from a word that means to openly acknowledge. Mark 1:5 “And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins”. John here preached repentance for the remission of sins. That was, they came out publicly to acknowledge. Acts 10:37-38 “That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”. Acts 19:3-4 “And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus”. The confession was to publicly consent to what John said.
Acts 23:6-8 “But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both”. “…but the Pharisees acknowledge both…” So, a confession has to do with your conviction, what you believe. That is, to say with your mouth what you have believed in your heart. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Let your words agree with what God’s word says about you.

CONFESSION: I affirm who I am in Christ – I speak words of victory always.

QUOTE: In confession, you consent your words to what God’s word says about you.
