“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” – Mark 11:22-24
LIGHT FOR NOW: Part of walking in the light of the word is in how you speak. Words are one of the greatest proofs of spiritual growth.
Jesus (our model) often spoke that which has been spoken ahead of time about him in the scriptures. He spoke the word. In Matthew 27:26, he spoke from Psalm 22:1. Notice that he did not stop speaking, even on the cross. In hell, he spoke; Acts 2:27-33 “Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear”. Jesus here in Acts made reference to the book of Psalm.
Psalm 16:8-11 “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore, my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore”. As a believer, the words you speak must be important to you. The born-again man must place premium on words. He must not just speak casually or carelessly; he must not speak from an outburst of his emotions. He must speak faith-filled words. He must speak words that align with his realities in Christ. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Don’t let your emotions control your speaking; let God’s word control your speaking.
CONFESSION: I walk in the reality of the word in my words. I don’t speak words of defeat, I speak words of victory, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
QUOTE: The believer must let his life be regulated by the word and not his emotions.
