“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” – Mark 11:22-24
LIGHT FOR NOW: At salvation, all the authority a believer ever needs to navigate his life in victory was given to him; he only has a responsibility to put this authority to work by his speaking.
Pay close attention to verse 23 of our key text above. Mark 11:23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”. The word “say” here was translated from the Greek word “lego”. It means to affirm by speaking, to instruct. Jesus was speaking of the believer’s authority. The word “saith” in the text above was translated from the Greek word “lalos”; it refers to a regular speaking; to be talkative; to tell a tale. Hence, speaking is an affirmative speaking that could be regular, constant, and persistent. That is, whosoever shall command and believe that these things which he keeps saying shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he says. “…he shall have whatsoever he saith…” The word “saith” above was translated from the Greek word “eimi”; it means to exit.
The first instance of the word “says” is to give a specific instruction. The second instance is to persist in what you said (instructed). The believer is seated with Christ, exalted in him; the same authority given to Jesus is given to him today. He, however, has a responsibility to put this authority to work by his speaking. What are you speaking? Are your words reflecting where you are in Christ or your speaking defeats? Use your words rightly. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Use your words rightly.
CONFESSION: I am seated in Christ, far above all principalities and powers. I am in authority; therefore, I speak as one who is in charge, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
QUOTE: Words not spoken is authority not exercised.
