HOW QUICKLY SHOULD I USE MY WORDS? (2)

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” – Mark 11:22-24

LIGHT FOR NOW: The authority of the believer was given to be exercised, and the vehicle to exercise this authority is his words. Use your words!

Our above key text holds key to unveiling “How quickly the believer ought to use his words”. In context, observe verse 14 “And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it” (Mark 11:14). When Jesus found no fruit on the tree, he spoke to the tree. That means that the tree communicated words to him. So, circumstances communicate words to us. But Jesus spoke out immediately. In Mark 5, Jesus was already on his way to Jairus’ house when news got to Jesus that his daughter was dead. Notice that Jesus spoke immediately. Mark 5:35:36 “While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe”.
He did not wait for the words to settle or to linger on Jairus’ mind. So, how quickly do I use my words? I use my word immediately. Matthew 8:8 “The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed”. The Centurion understood that Jesus did not have to be physically present for his words to work. Words are the tools of authority. Your words are just as valuable as your status; your words will work on the issues in your life. Authority is exercised with words. By speaking, you put authority to work. Words not spoken are authority not exercised. Thus, the believer in Christ exercises his authority to the degree to which he uses his words. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Use your words rightly.

CONFESSION: I use my words rightly. I speak words of faith. The word of God guides my speech in Jesus’ name, Amen.

QUOTE: Your authority as a believer is exercised to the degree to which you speak.
