SEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT (2)

“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory”. – Ephesians 1:13-14

LIGHT FOR NOW: The Holy Spirit taking up residence in the believer is the seal of redemption.

Redemption has a seal; redemption’s seal is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit within us is God’s eternal signature of ownership. By the seal of the spirit, he owns us; this is permanent. Hence, our mortal body will be swallowed up of immortality. Recall, the word “seal” is from the Greek word “sphragizo” which implies to put a permanent mark of ownership on something or someone. Ephesians 4:30 “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption”. The indwelling of the spirit is the proof that this body (this physical/mortal body) has been paid for by the blood of Jesus is his redemptive sacrifice.
Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you”. 2 Corinthians 5:5 “Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit”. 2Corinthians 1:21-22 “Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts”. You have the seal of the spirit; that seal is your guarantee and guarantor for rapture. “Rapture” which is not a word you will find in the bible, is a “coinage” by theologians or bible scholars to explain the swallowing up of our mortal bodies by immortality. That is, when this mortal body drops and we take on immortality, that reality is called the rapture. The Holy Ghost in us is our guarantee for that reality. Meaning, the spirit of God in us is the ingredient for rapture. By the indwelling of the spirit, which is God’s permanent or eternal seal in us, rapture is guaranteed for the believer. Glory!
