HOW IS A MAN JUSTIFIED?

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”. – Romans 1:16-17

LIGHT FOR NOW: Let righteousness occupy your consciousness as a believer because that is your status and this consciousness of righteousness will free you from sin consciousness.

The epistles of Paul will bring to the spotlight how a man is justified. Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one”. This text was quoted from the Psalm of David. Psalm 14:3 “They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one”. The verses show that a man who depends on the works of the law can never be righteous because he has to fulfill all the demands of the law. If he fails in one, he is guilty of all. Galatians 3:10-11 “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith”. Having seen how helpless a man is in becoming righteous on his own merit, Christ by his sacrifice provided us a way which we can be righteous, based on his own merit alone.
Romans 3:21-22 “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference”. A man can only become righteous by accepting what Christ has done by faith. Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. By faith in what Christ has done, I am made righteous. By faith in what Christ has done, I am justified; that is, declared righteous. Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”. So, justification (which is being declared righteous) is by faith. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: You are justified. Confess it!

CONFESSION: I am righteous today not by my own works of righteousness but by his grace alone, which I have received by faith in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

QUOTE: You have the status of righteousness. Let this be your consciousness.
