“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”– Mark 11:23
LIGHT FOR NOW: There is a place of insisting and persisting on your speaking as a believer.
The emphasis of Jesus in the above text is on speaking; to say. He puts the faith of God to work, instructs, and issues a command. The second use of the word “say” in Mark 11:23 is to speak in affirmation. This implies consistency. It was translated from a word that describes a consistent, continuous, systematic way of speaking. The third use of the word “say” is from an original word that describes that which exists. Therefore, the text Mark 11:23 can be better rendered as: “Whosoever shall speak authoritatively and shall not doubt but shall believe that those things which he affirms shall come to pass, he shall have what he systematically builds”. In other words, this speaking is not a once and for all speaking but consistent speaking.
Therefore, in the working of the faith of God, the emphasis is on words, our use of words, our speaking, not a once and for all speaking but consistent speaking. The believing is passive, and it’s exercised in speaking. We instruct, command, then insist or persist in that speaking; we would have whatsoever we say. The believer, therefore, must place premium on words. The believer must value his words; he must guard his words, ensuring that he doesn’t speak carelessly or speak from the standpoint of negativity. The need to pay attention to the words that we speak is often overlooked; seen as inconsequential. However, a vital question to ask is: If you realized that all you said going forward would come to pass, how differently would you speak? This is because that is a fact in our speaking. How different would you use your words if you realize that you will have whatsoever that you say? Most times, what we get in life is programmed by our words. The believer must thus guide his words and use it rightly. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Don’t release words carelessly.
CONFESSION: I put my faith to work; I insist, persist in my speaking, and I have whatsoever that I say, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
QUOTE: To have whatsoever that you say there is a place of insisting and persisting on your speaking.
