“I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” – Philemon 1:4-6
LIGHT FOR NOW: Precise knowledge of Christ is for the believers’ benefit and advantage.
Precise knowledge is a necessary requirement on the part of the believer upon new birth. The Christian faith itself begins with knowledge; that is, the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who in him is salvation, however accessed or received by faith in him. Now, faith in that knowledge; the knowledge of the Savior for salvation (Jesus Christ) saves a man. Therefore, Christianity starts by knowledge, and thus, Christianity is a knowledge-based faith. If Christianity or you being a Christian start by knowledge, it will thus continue in knowledge and even finish in knowledge.
Note that the gospel of Jesus Christ is termed the word of faith. Romans 10:8-10 ““But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation””.
The coming of Jesus is called the coming of faith. Galatians 3:23 “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterward be revealed”. We are complete in him, needing and lacking nothing. Colossians 2:10 “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power”. 2Peter 1:4 “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust”. Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ”. Therefore, the believer does not have a faith problem. He is not taught to have faith. He received faith at salvation; when he believed the gospel, his responsibility now is to acknowledge and walk in the same. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge and walk in who you are.
CONFESSION: I acknowledge I have received faith in Christ, it is my possession, I use it, I walk in it, in Jesus name, Amen.
QUOTE: The believer doesn’t have a faith problem; the totality of God’s faith came into him at salvation.
