THE FATHER’S LOVE IS OUR VICTORY (2)

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son but delivered him up for us all. How shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 8:31-39

LIGHT FOR NOW: The Father’s love is unending, unchanging and unconditional.

In verse 37 of our key text above, Paul says “we are more than conquerors through him that loved us”. In essence, outside of God’s love for us, we wouldn’t have been made conquerors. So, in God’s love, we’ve been made more than conquerors. This implies we’ve been made more than champions; the battle is won, and victory is ours. We have been declared victorious in his love. The Passion Translation words Romans 8:37 above this way: “Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything”. We are in victory now!

Hebrews 2:14-15 “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”.
The Father’s love has conquered sin and death for us. Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace”. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”. We have an assurance of the resurrection or transformation of our mortal bodies based on his love for us. The Father indeed is for us. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: You triumph in God’s love; acknowledge this.

DECLARATION: I am more than a conqueror and victorious in God’s love for me, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
