THE FATHER’S LOVE IS OUR VICTORY (1)

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son but delivered him up for us all. How shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 8:31-39

LIGHT FOR NOW: God’s love is our victory.  We are made more than conquerors in his love.

Observe verse 37 of our key text closely; “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us”. The word “more than conquerors” in this text means we are more than champions or one who has won a battle. The battle over sin has already been one. This verse of scripture (Romans 8:37) describes a final authority. Revelation 12:10-11 “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”.

The bible calls the devil the accuser of the brethren. He is the one who brings opposition against our faith. He does not need to appear to us literally. He rather uses words or wrong information, especially from the law. The history of our victory in Christ remains our ever dependable weapon over his accusations. We are to carry the banner of victory everywhere we go. This victory we have over sin, and the devil is all a pointer to God’s love for us. It was love that defeated sin. It was love that defeated the devil, and that love is God because God is love. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: God is ever loving; ponder on this.

CONFESSION: The Father’s love is my victory, in Jesus’ Name, Amen

QUOTE: We are more than conquerors because God’s love made that out of us.
