GOD’S EVERLASTING LOVE (5)

“What shall we say these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”– Romans 8:31-39

LIGHT FOR NOW:The love of God is for all-time and everlasting.

The forgiveness we’ve received of God was never based on confession of sins; rather it was received by our confession of Christ’s work. 1John 4:15 “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God”. The scripture which appeared different was 1John 1:9 which if read to mean confession of sins for forgiveness would contradict other statements made in the same letter. Let’s see references of this other statement. 1John 2:1 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”. 1John 2:12 “I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake”. In 1John 1:9, John was reminding believers how they became born again. He meant that we were saved concerning our sins we confessed; his faithfulness and ability to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, not that we were forgiven because we admitted our sins to God.

James 5:16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. James 5:16 referred to the love walk amongst believers. He admonished them rather to admit their faults to one another so their relationship would be healed. The father’s love is proven by his unconditional forgiveness which is valid throughout our lifetime. Glory!
