GOD’S EVERLASTING LOVE (2)

“What shall we say these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”– Romans 8:31-39

LIGHT FOR NOW: God’s unending love is an unchanging reality about God’s character.

God’s love for us is not based on our personal experiences. Our experiences do not validate or disprove his love. It is an unshakable truth. It was present even before we were born. Isaiah 49:15 “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet I will not forget thee”. Right from the prophecies of the Old Testament, God’s love for man had been revealed. Isaiah 53:4-6 “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all”.

Observe Isaiah 53:12 “Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors”. He had always communicated that sin would be dealt with. Jesus was emphatic about the same. Psalm 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us”. God’s love for mankind is the goodnews of the gospel. Glory!

INSTRUCTION:God’s love for us is unending – acknowledge this reality.

CONFESSION: The unending love of God for me is eternal reality to me, in Jesus name, Amen.

QUOTE: God’s character of love is unending and unchanging, it is who God is.
