“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching hereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”– Ephesians 6:18
LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer had long left the path of confusion; he has God’s leading always by God’s spirit.
In our last structure, we saw another benefit of praying in tongues which is: Praying in tongues is speaking divine mysteries; divine coded secrets. Hence, a further investigation into this made us see that when you pray in tongues, secrets and plans will be made known to you. By saying secrets and plans will be made known to you, that equally imply direction and leading. In other words, when a believer prays in tongues, God is making secrets and plans known to him equally which gives him leading and direction. When you pray in tongues, you pray God’s secrets and plans for your life and you equally effect the leading and direction of the spirit over your life. That’s why a believer that is given to prayers (especially praying in the spirit) will increase in;
- Spiritual sensitivity
- Spiritual consecration
- Spiritual alertness
A believer that is sensitive to the spirit; a believer that is alert to the promptings of the spirit cannot walk in the path of confusion, because by the spirit he is led and always directed. Prayer; praying in the spirit is how you build that sensitivity. Praying in the spirit unveils God’s secrets and plans to us and makes us to walk by the spirit’s leading. Praying in tongues is your entrance into the supernatural and miraculous. Tongues put you in God’s miracle zone. You stir an atmosphere of miracles when you pray in tongues.
Observe the Amplified and the Passion Translations of 1Corinthians 14:2 “For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning; because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding]” (AMPC). “When someone speaks in tongues, no one understands a word he says, because he’s not speaking to people, but to God – he is speaking intimate mysteries in the Spirit”(TPT). Glory!
