THE BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN TONGUES (3)

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching hereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”– Ephesians 6:18

LIGHT FOR NOW: The entry point into the supernatural or spirit world is through tongues.

We’ve been looking into the benefits of praying in tongues and it’s been an enlightening study. Let’s take it further as we establish another benefit. Tongues are the entrance into the supernatural world or the entrance into the miraculous. 1Corinrthian 14:2 “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries”. The supernatural or miraculous world is the world of the believer; however, his entrance into that world is tongues. The world of the supernatural has a door way, it is tongues. Praying in tongues is beneficial because it is the gate way into the spirit realm. There is a door way into the realm of the spirit and it is through tongues. John said “I was in the spirit on the Lord’s day” (Revelation 1:10). No wonder Christians have no knowledge of entering the spirit realm. Tongues are the key that unlocks the spirit world. Do you know that among the nine gifts of the spirit, tongues is the only gift that gives you access into the other gifts of the spirit; that is, tongues is the door way to putting the other eight gifts of the spirit to work.

Paul highlights these nine gifts of the spirit in 1Corinthians 12:8-10 “For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverse kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues”. The nine gifts of the supernatural or of the spirit are:

• The word of wisdom
• The word of knowledge
• The gift of faith
• The gift of healing
• The working of miracles
• Prophecy – the gift of prophecy
• Discerning of spirits
• Divers kinds of tongues
• Interpretation of tongues

The believer that regularly gives himself to praying in tongues will have access into operating the other eight gifts because of the way his spiritual faculties have been sharpened by tongues. Glory!
