THE BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN TONGUES (2)

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching hereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”– Ephesians 6:18

LIGHT FOR NOW:Praying in tongues sharpens you in the anointing – it makes you to grow in the anointing so you can be effective in the operations of it.

An already established benefit of praying in tongues as discussed in last studies is that praying in tongues is a vital aspect to spiritual growth and sensitivity in the spirit. Thus, praying in tongues sharpens;

  • Spiritual sensitivity
  • Spiritual alertness and;
  • Spiritual consecration

The man that prays more in tongues becomes so:

  • Sensitive to the leading of the spirit
  • Alert to the directions of God’s sight.
  • Consecrated to the things of the spirit

Praying in tongues is vital to the sensitivity of the spirit; there is no way around it. If you want to grow in the anointing or to be more effective in the operation of the anointing, it is imperative that you become a person of prayer. So, another vital benefit of praying in tongues is that; Praying in tongues is vital and integral to growing in the anointing which you have in you by virtue of Christ in you. Notice, we did not say that praying in tongues makes the anointing grow; rather praying in tongues makes you grow in the anointing. It is not the anointing that will grow, as the anointing did not come in a certain measure; the fullness of God’s anointing entered every believer at new birth. There is no believer that is not anointed of God.

For Apostle John did say in 1John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have receive of him abideth in you…” He is talking to believers and he says the anointing we have received abides in us, why? The word “Christ” was translated from the Greek word “Christos”, it means the anointed one and his anointing. When we say “Christ is in you”, it means the anointed one and his anointing lives in you. This understanding lays credence to understanding 1John 2:27 – Christ is the anointing and he abides in us. And when Jesus entered us at new birth, he didn’t enter us in a certain measure, the fullness of his person took residence in us at new birth. So the anointing will not increase because Christ in us cannot increase; the anointing cannot grow because Christ in us cannot grow; however, we can increase and grow in the operations of the anointing – this happens via knowledge and giving yourself to the things of the spirit, especially praying in tongues. This is what draws the line between believers that live in the power of God and those believers that live as though they are empty of God’s power. Praying in the spirit will enable you live in the power of the anointing while not praying in the spirit will do the opposite.Glory!
