“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching hereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints”– Ephesians 6:18
LIGHT FOR NOW:As believers in Christ, praying in tongues is for us today – You must consciously live in the reality of this fact.
As established in previous studies; praying in the spirit is praying in your heavenly prayer language of tongues. The believer is a heavenly citizen – he is a citizen of heaven. As citizens of a place or nationality, there is a language that identifies with that place. For instance in Nigeria, the Yorubas have their language, the igbos have their language, the Hausas have their language, the Ibibios have their language; same with the rest of the world. Just like you have languages that identify you with your nationality or place of birth, by new birth upon which you become a citizen of heaven, there is a language that identifies you with that nationality – that language is called tongues. Men of the spirit utter spirit vocabulary in prayers. Praying in the spirit is the language of men born of the spirit. This emphasizes the fact that tongues is of heavenly origin and not human origin. Tongues are of supernatural origin and not natural origin.
Praying in the spirit is praying in your heavenly prayer language of tongues. The book of Acts states that tongues are “the wonderful works of God” (Acts 2:11). If praying in tongues is evil, then Paul would have been demon possessed because he said, “I thank my God, I speak in tongues more than ye all” (1Corinthians 14:18). Isn’t that uncanny and preposterous for people to come up with such an excuse? Other excuses that we hear today are: “Speaking in tongues is not for us today”. Then why would Apostle Paul spend his time talking about tongues in the function of a church service in the fourteenth chapter of the book of Corinthians? Apostle Paul also said, “Forbid not to speak with tongues” (1Corinthians 14:39), and then he uttered these powerful words, “I would that ye all spake with tongues” (1Corinthians 14:5). Make use of your heavenly prayer language – speak with tongues. Glory!
INSTRUCTION:Always pray with tongues.
DECLARATION:I am given to the practice and lifestyle of prayer – especially praying in the Holy Ghost, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: Tongues is of supernatural origin and not of natural origin.
