LIGHT FOR NOW: The supernatural world belongs to the believer.
Speaking or praying in tongues is a phenomenon that belongs to those on the side of the cross and resurrection. New tongues should be spoken by those of the new birth. As a believer or minister who endeavours to increase in sharpness in the anointing, you have to develop the art of praying in the spirit. Let’s have a brief glimpse into the supernatural having known that is of supernatural origin – it is the believers’ vocabulary in the world of the spirit (1Corinthians 12:1). In King James Version of 1Corinthians 12:1, the word “gifts” is italicized. This means it was put there at the discretion of the translators supposedly to help us. Whenever you see a word italicized in the Authorized Version, it simply means that the word is not in the original text. This verse should be literally read as “Now concerning spiritual, brethren, I would not have you ignorant”. The twelfth chapter of 1Corinthians does not just deal with the gifts of the spirit but also with ministries and the body of Christ. The word “spiritual” in 1Corinthians 12:1 is the Greek word “pneumatikos” and it means:
- Things pertaining to the spirit
- Supernatural
- The miraculous
- Movement of the wind of God.
So, this verse can be rendered as follows:
- Now concerning things pertaining to the spirit, brothers, I would not have you ignorant.
- Now concerning the supernatural, brothers, I do not want you ignorant.
- Now concerning the miraculous, brothers, I do not want you ignorant.
- Now concerning the movement of the wind of God, brothers, I do not want you ignorant.
The supernatural and the realm of the miraculous are for the believer. Witchcraft, psychics, tarot card readers, fortune tellers, druids, wizards, witches, warlocks, and new agers are not the inventors of and do not monopolize the supernatural. The supernatural to the occult is demonic infestation. The supernatural and miraculous are for the believer.Glory!
