JUST AS HE IS, WE ARE! (20)

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation” 2Corinthians 5:18

LIGHT FOR NOW:The believer in Christ is the workmanship of God. He has the makeup of God as God’s very life and DNA was imparted into him at new birth.

If he had reconciled us to himself, what we have is reconciliation. If he had said he would reconcile us, that would have been a promise of reconciliation in the future. If he has given to us the ministry of reconciliation, that is exactly what we have. If he has reconciled us, we have reconciliation now. 2Corinthians 5:19 “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation”. The phrase “in Christ” was not just a phrase that Paul loved to use. No, it is a reality. If God saved us in Christ, I believe that and I accept everything that is in Christ. “In Christ” is the signature of God. If it is not in Christ, it is not of God, because “in Christ” is the signature of God. That is the handiwork of God.Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”.

“I am the workmanship of God”; that is as real as saying God is good. I need to believe that he has made me because it is the same work. If you will not believe what you have and who you are in Christ, we need to find out if you really believe the gospel. It is the same work that sets us free that made us a new creation. If I will accept the death of Christ on the cross, then I will accept who I am in Christ. Nothing is different. The word “in Christ” is the word in union with Christ. It is the word “together”. There are some old English words that you cannot find a contemporary equivalent word together. When “in Christ” is implied, a union or amalgamation or marriage with Christ is implied. The union you have with Christ in Christ is what makes you as he is. You are as Jesus is because his very life flows through you at the point of new birth. At the point of new birth, divinity fused into your humanity; immortality fused into mortality. In that fusion comes the infusion of the very life of God in you. So, you are as he is. Glory!

INSTRUCTION:Acknowledge who you are in Christ.

DECLARATION:I am in Christ. I share in his identity. As he is, so I am in this world today, tomorrow and forever, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: You have been brought into union with Christ in Christ.
