“By this we come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we abide (live and remain) in Him and He in us: because He has given (imparted) to us of His [Holy] Spirit. And [besides] we ourselves have seen (have deliberately and steadfastly contemplated) and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son [as the] Savior of the world.Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God.And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him.In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world” –1John 4:13-17(AMPC)
LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer carries the maximum load of God on his inside.
Paul in chapter 2 of Galatians communicates this important truth to us; “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). Christ lives in me. If I am in Christ, then Christ lives in me. Many people do not understand this truth because we are always thinking that we have never had enough; in Christ, we have enough. This is the Pauline revelation; the revelation God gave to Paul that has defined Christianity for all ages. This is the revelation that most religions fight. Most religions agree with the Old Testament; they agree even with the teachings of Jesus but all the religions reject the Pauline revelation because it contains the truth about Christ and what he came to do.
Even in the church world, those people who reject the Pauline revelation always make it obvious in their teaching. They always give the believer a sense of lack. You leave a church service always believing that you lack something. Instead, what we have read shows us that the emphasis of the epistles is in what we have. “He has, I have”. You are not lacking of God’s ability, no! The born again man is God’s workmanship – he is the very handiwork of God; crafted by God himself and indwelt by God and all of God’s fullness. Yes, he is complete in Christ. Glory!
