JUST AS HE IS, WE ARE! (9)

“By this we come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we abide (live and remain) in Him and He in us: because He has given (imparted) to us of His [Holy] Spirit. And [besides] we ourselves have seen (have deliberately and steadfastly contemplated) and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son [as the] Savior of the world. Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God. And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him. In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world” – 1John 4:13-17 (AMPC)

LIGHT FOR NOW: God’s word is real; it is a living and walking reality.

The word of God is a living reality. You must never consider the word of God like the words of men. Hebrews 1:1-3 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high”.

The word of God is a living person. Anytime you read the written word, you are having an encounter with a real person. The written word reveals the living word to us.
Notice, “spoken in His son”. The word of God is a living person. The written word reveals the living word to us. I am in contact with a person when I am in contact with my bible. There are some things about me that are incontrovertible. I am a human being; I don’t have to believe that I am a human being. I am a man. Those are realities about me. I have one nose, two nostrils, two ears; those are realities about me. I don’t have to prove this to anyone because they are real to me. In the same breath, “in Christ” realities are things that ought to be real to us. If they are real to God, they ought to be real to the believer. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Let God’s word be real to you.

CONFESSION: I acknowledge the person of the word who is Jesus; I hail from this person and thus, I walk in the riches of the redemption made available by his redemptive sacrifice, in Jesus name, Amen.

QUOTE: How you feel is not as real as God’s word because not everything you feel is real, but God’s word is real.
