LIGHT FOR NOW: Christ is in you
The word “within” is the Hebrew word “quereb” which means inward. That means God’s spirit is located in the heart of a man, and that spirit allows him to conduct himself as God’s child. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”. In the Pauline epistles, the man in Christ is a new man; why did Paul say that? Verse 16 of 2 Corinthians 5 “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more”. Emphasis on the man “in Christ”, this is used to show the union between the believer and Christ; which means the work of the believer will be through and by Christ because Christ now dwells in him. Christ in the believer is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy and his personal commitment towards the believer.
As a believer, your birth determines your operation. John 3:6-8 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel, not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit”. Romans 8:29 “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren”. 1 Peter 1:23 “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever”. James 1:17-18 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures”. James calls God the father of lights, which means his creation should reflect his person, and the new man is created by God both in his Spirit and in his thinking. Glory!
