‘“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”. – 2 Timothy 3:15
LIGHT FOR NOW: You are responsible for your choices
God’s plan was expressed in salvation by adopting us as his children. Ephesians 1:5 says Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will”. The word ‘ unto the adoption of children’ is the word ‘ Eisuihotesia’ which means I did several things for you to be adopted by working out all things concerning salvation after the counsel of my will. (Ephesians 1:11).
We have seen that God’s plan and foreknowledge were towards the salvation of man, and he works out the modalities to get the plan done, but man chooses whether to take part in God’s plan or not. So, in God’s sovereignty, he gives man the ability to make choices.
Genesis 1:26-27 says And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
We see how God created man, with intention and gave him dominion over everything that moves on the earth: suffice to say God is not responsible for your choices, this is why it is compulsory to debunk myths that when something bad happens we are quick to say it was Gods will.. this is wrong.. God’s will is only seen in the context of salvation. Glory
