“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit with you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them”. – Ezekiel 36:25-27
LIGHT FOR NOW: There is a role of the gift of the spirit in the leading of the spirit.
At this point in our studies, we will look at the gift of the spirit in leading. The gift of the spirit also plays a great role in the leading of the spirit. When we refer to the gifts of the spirit in leading, it will not be miracles, signs, and wonders; rather, it will be utterances and revelation. This is how we search.
The believer is actually involved in searching. The leading does not mean God will wake you up every morning to say what to do. Rather, you are the one that does the finding out; you are to find out. When it comes to leading, you take an active part. It is when you don’t take an active part that you are confronted with several kinds of dreams and visions come to you. 1 Timothy 1:18 “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightiest war a good warfare”.
Prophecy is for the mind of man. It ministers to the mind of man. What the prophecy does is that the spirit in you in another believer now ministers to you concerning the things in your spirit but addresses your mind first. So when you get that kind of prophecy, it begins to search. Prophecies are not an end but a means to an end. This is why Paul would say “wage a good warfare”. It means that prophecy can never be precise. It can lead to precision, but it can never be precise. You would rather have more work to do. They are just pointers. Glory!
