“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit with you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them”. – Ezekiel 36:25-27
LIGHT FOR NOW: The believer must develop the culture of feeding on God’s word, exposing his mind to God’s word and putting God’s word in his words.
In following the inward witness, Apostle James has this to say: “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath” (James 1:19). The above admonition by Apostle James calls for the practice of restraints – believers must practice some restraints. A believer ought to practice some contemplation and be disciplined. Put the two exercises below into action:
• Learn to be quiet: The inward witness oftentimes can be quieted when we are too active.
• In waiting also, get full of God’s word. Meditate on the word more, think on the word, and put the word on your mind.
Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord”.
The Passion Translation of the above text reads: “Let the word of Christ live in you richly, flooding you with all wisdom. Apply the scriptures as you teach and instruct one another with the Psalms and with festive praises, and with prophetic songs given to you spontaneously by the spirit, so sing to God with all your hearts” (Colossians 3:16).
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. 2 Timothy 3:15 “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”. So, you must be full of the word; put his word in mind and meditate on it. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Learn the art of meditating on God’s word.
CONFESSION: I put God’s word in my mind. I meditate on it always, and I live in the reality of it.
QUOTE: Expose your mind to God’s word.
