THE LEADING OF THE SPIRIT (18)

“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit with you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them”. – Ezekiel 36:25-27

LIGHT FOR NOW: You open up your mind to a lot of disasters if you live it unguarded. You must place your mind on strict guarding.

Paul in Romans 12 laid an emphasis on the renewing of the mind. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:1-2). You must guard your reasoning, the way you think. You are exposed to TV, philosophies, backslidden Christians, and some things are hidden. This is why renewing your mind is following God’s plan for your life.

Hence, I must examine my thought pattern with the word. I check it again and again. Even in ministry, I must ask myself why I am doing this. I must do it over and over. I must learn to check my motives. God reminds you that you are a servant. How? Through your heart.

There is no day you will not need to be humble or temperate.
You can not outgrow temptation. You have to keep living in this word. When you wake up in the morning, and you are studying and praying, you are following God’s plan for your life. Because your mind is a powerful place, it’s where you walk in the spirit; it’s where you walk in love. You need to feed yourself consistently on the word of God. If you are in ministry, you need to keep feeding yourself on God’s word in that area regularly.

Be careful of keeping friends who are not involved in what God asked you to do. You have to be in the right place, keep the right friends, and speak to the right people to do the will of God. Our minds thus need to come to acknowledge the reality of what Christ has done. Paul prayed wisdom for the church at Colossae also (Colossians 1:9). He prayed that their mind received understanding and insight from the spirit. This is what the mind needs. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Guard your mind!

CONFESSION: I am cautious with my mind now and always, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

QUOTE: An unguarded mind is opened to disaster.
