“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit with you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them”. – Ezekiel 36:25-27
LIGHT FOR NOW: Supernatural guidance is not a reaction but it is a proaction.
It was established in previous study that the believer is indwelt by God’s spirit, hence he is guided and directed by God. Paul’s word in Ephesians 2 is vital to investigate; “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:8-10). Again, by saying “before ordained”, it is not the same as “predetermined”; it means to make ready in advance. It is not to determine. It is like someone clearing a bush path for a third party. He simply gives you a path for you to follow. It implies to “fore desire”. God has prepared a plan; a way for us that we should walk in it. This is similar to road signs. The road signs are put there before you get to the road. Yours is to note the road signs and follow them. Some may choose not to follow the road signs. The road signs are pre-planned. Hence, in our path through life, God has put road signs.
This shows that supernatural guidance is not a reaction but a proaction. That means that before every action, every decision that you are going to make, there is a guidance towards it. It’s not a reaction. Our role is to take note of the leading and to recognize it. We are not called to impress God. We are called to follow his leading. This happens only when we recognize what he has done in Christ. Philemon 1:6 “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus”. In Him we have direction; He is our wisdom. 1Corinthians 1:30 “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption”. Glory!
