“O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps”. – Jeremiah 10:23
LIGHT FOR NOW: We (believers) don’t confess “we are in confusion”, but we confess “we have the direction and leading of the spirit always”.
The born again man is light; he is a child of light by virtue of being begotten by the father of lights. Hence, James echoes in his epistle, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures” (James 1:17-18). As he is the father of lights, those birthed from him will be children of light. Paul explains even further; 2Corinthians 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and communion hath light with darkness?”
Believers are called light. Light means direction. The believer never lacks direction; he has direction. Hence, praying for direction is out of place as a believer; because as a believer, you are not looking for direction, guiding or leading. God by his spirit always guide, direct or lead the believer. But the problem is in identifying the direction He is giving you especially when spiritual sensitivity is absent. When a believer is not spiritually alert and sensitive, he finds it difficult to discern the direction of the spirit. So, we don’t pray for God to come down and direct us; we don’t pray for the spirit to come and lead us because he is always available to lead us. However, we pray to be sensitive in identifying the direction of the spirit.
From the foregoing, it is clear that we have since left the path of confusion. This means the believer is never without what to do and how to do it. You are not the confused one, you have clarity of thoughts and accuracy in decision making. Acknowledge this and walk in reality. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Acknowledge your realities until it dawns on you.
CONFESSION: I am not confused; I know what to do, how to do and when to do it, in Jesus name, Amen.
QUOTE: The believer had left the path of confusion; he has the direction of the spirit always!
