THE LAW OF FAITH (7)

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. – Romans 10:8-10

LIGHT FOR NOW: God’s word at work in your life’s circumstances is an offshoot of faith being put to work by you.

In Hebrews 11:1, faith is defined as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. Now faith is the substance [confirmation title dead, assurance] of what we hope for, the evidence [conviction, proof] of things not seen. What then do these words mean? Firstly, confirmation has to do with strengthening or making firm; a title deed is a document containing evidence of ownership, and assurance is a formal guarantee or pledge.

On the other hand, conviction is defined as a strong belief on the ground of satisfactory reasons, while proof is pieces of evidence establishing the fact or validity of a statement. When the word faith is mentioned, some Christians tend to look at the “tenets of faith” represented as a creed. However, the other side of understanding faith is through the scriptures as spiritual laws.

This is faith in God that manifests the Kingdom of God on the earth. Hebrews 11:3 says “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear”. If God is a faithful God and he created the world by exercising his faith, then according to Hebrews 11:3, the faith which he released was the word of God.

The substance of faith is God’s word, and those words are filled with spiritual life. Jesus speaking in John 6:63 said “The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life”. Faith is not visible, nor is it words, but faith takes words and releases them into the atmosphere to create reality in our lives. Simply put, faith is God’s words in action. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: Speak God’s word.

CONFESSION: I affirm that God’s word is the final authority in my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

QUOTE: In faith, you are not silent. You speak.
