“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. – Romans 10:8-10
LIGHT FOR NOW: God’s word is the final authority regardless of situations and circumstances.
In todays study, we will consider the characteristics of faith. It is important to note that for a persons action to be termed “biblical faith”, certain requirements must be made. One of such requirement is “having a firm conviction that Gods promises are true”. Proverbs 30:5-6 [ESU] “Every word of God proves true.” So, God can not say a word and not keep to it. Hence, believers ought to believe completely without any doubt that He who promises is faithful and just to fulfill all His promises. Another important characteristic is a conduct that is inspired as a result of total surrender to Gods promises or Gods words. This means that a man’s faith in God is more real and valid than what we say, hear, feel or see. Until believers get the promises of God into their heart which is where faith works, the circumstances of life will probably be more real to us than Gods words, Hence, there is need to rely and trust in Gods words because His words are true.
Hold God’s word as true in spite of circumstances and situations. Situations and circumstances can present facts to you, but God’s word is the truth regardless of the fact presented by situations. Learn to subject circumstances and situations to the authority of God’s word, rather than subjecting God’s word to your situations and circumstances. Always look at your circumstances and situations through the lenses of God’s word; don’t look at God’s word through the lenses of your situations. God’s word remains unchanged, but that situation is subject to change. God’s word is final; take God at his word. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Let God’s word be your final authority.
CONFESSION: I declare that I am a word-oriented believer and not a circumstance oriented believer in Jesus’ Name, Amen
QUOTE: The position of God’s word can not be changed just like your position in Christ can not be changed; but your conditions or situations are subject to change.
