“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart an believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. – Romans 10:8-10
LIGHT FOR NOW: Faith and doubt are antagonist.
Having established that there are two approaches to salvation, it is important to delve deeper into the subject matter. Faith in the old covenant law has to do with seeking salvation through religion. As such, believers are expected to live their lives in a certain way guided by stated rules and regulations.
However, Paul has gone to great lengths to show us that an attempt to approach God this way in order to obtain salvation will definitely be futile.
The second approach to salvation, which is the (New Covenant), “Law of Faith” has to do with a relationship with God based on what he has already done for us.
The law of faith recognizes that there is absolutely nothing a man can do, that will be adequate for him to merit or earn salvation. It is clear in the scriptures that the only way to be saved is faith in Christ Jesus “Romans 1:17 “The one who is Righteous will live by faith”.
What then is faith? Faith is the Greek word “pistis” and it means “having been fully persuaded”. However, biblical faith goes beyond just an intellectual assent. Faith has to do with being completely or fully convinced about a thing. If you are still having doubts, then it is not faith. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Stay in faith.
CONFESSION: I am saved by faith, and I stay in faith. There is no place for doubt in Jesus’ Name, Amen
QUOTE: Faith exits when doubt is present and doubt exits when faith is present.
