“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places” – Ephesians 1:16-20
LIGHT FOR NOW: The believers’ authority is not for decoration, neither is it an ornament, it is a necessity because you will need it, hence you were given it.
Man was to run things on earth through prayer. He was to commune with God as he exercises dominion on earth. Prayer directs things on earth; it put things in their right path. It is the presence or absence of prayer that runs things on earth. The authority to produce anything including creating your own world is in your heart and in your mouth; that is how God created man to be and to exercise dominion on earth. God does not run things here; ever since he offered man that authority over his creation, he has never come down to subjugate man. People blame God for the bad things on earth, but he is not the one running things here; man is meant to be in charge of things on earth. God created the earth perfect and handed it over to Adam in a perfect state. But Adam made a wrong choice by walking in disobedience.
When Adam sinned, the consequences of sin on this planet became evident. We need to know that when God says anything, He does not go contrary to what He has said. If he breaches that, it will be sin, and God cannot sin. God therefore cannot violate his own word. God created the heaven and earth, and gave all his creation to the authority of man. So, man was to exercise his authority both in heaven and on earth but he did not because of sin. Adam did not function in that authority by sin, by unbelief; he was not in Christ. The New Creation today functions in that authority. That is why Paul will say God raised us up together with Christ and made us to sit together in the heavenly, far above principalities and powers in Ephesians chapter 1 and 2. In essence, you sit in the highest sphere of authority; principalities and powers submit to you. So when you pray, you pray from the place of authority; where all circumstances, situations, demons and devils obey your voice. Glory!
INSTRUCTION: Pray! Pray! Pray!
CONFESSION: I make power available in prayer and by the authority at work in me; I declare that lives fall in pleasant places for me, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: The believer’ authority is not an ornament; it is needed.
