“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places” – Ephesians 1:16-20
LIGHT FOR NOW: The power of God inside the believer equally works like a stick of dynamite when unleashed or set into motion.
Verse 19 of Ephesians chapter 1 holds key to what we are presently investigating. Here, Paul uses five powerful adjectives to describe the power of God at work in us at the point of believe; they are:
- Exceeding
- Greatness
- Working
- Mighty
- Power
Having seen the first adjective “exceeding” which was translated from the Greek word “hyperballo” that refers to power that goes beyond target when unleashed, it was observed that the word “power” was used twice in this verse. That word “power” in its first usage was translated from the Greek word “dunamis”; it implies that when God’s power is put to work or when God’s power is set in motion, it has the capacity to change and rearrange things. That’s why the Greek word “dunamis” is where we get the word dynamite. In other words, God’s power in the believer is like dynamite in operation, that is, it works like dynamite. When this power is made available, it has the ability and capacity to change and rearrange things. So the power of God in you works like a stick of dynamite. You know what a dynamite does to a rock for instance when it is unleashed into it, it breaks through it. The power of God in you when unleashed can break through any mountain in your life. No circumstances or situation in your life can resist the dynamic power of God when unleashed towards it. God’s power in you works like a stick of dynamite, so why crying and lamenting when you carry within you a power that can break through any mountain in your life and remove them; pray!Glory!
INSTRUCTION:Put God’s power in you to work.
CONFESSION: By the dynamic power of God at work in me, every mountain around/in my life is removed, in Jesus Name, Amen.
QUOTE: God’s power in you is dynamic in operation.
