THE EFFICACY OF PRAYER (17)

“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places” – Ephesians 1:16-20

LIGHT FOR NOW: The believers’ prayers are answered according to the power at work in the believer.

We have said in earlier study that the passage above shows us clearly what God accomplished in the believer and what is available to him in redemption. God’s power exceeds in greatness and that power which exceeds in greatness lives in the believer. The believer is the house of the exceeding power of God. This power that exceeds in greatness was the power that made possible the resurrection of Jesus. It is the greatest power God ever put into operation. What you are to acknowledge from this is that this same power that effected the resurrection of Jesus and everything that happened thereafter is operating in the believer in Christ. That is the power at work in you.

Whatever happened to Christ and in Christ when God raised him from the dead happened to the believer in Christ or happened in the believer in Christ. Paul in Ephesians 2:5-6 has this to say, “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. Whatever that power effected in Christ, it did same in the believer in Christ. That is the power that fills us with all the fullness of God. So, all the fullness of God resides in the believer, there can be no need in this life that is beyond the power at work in you. Our prayers are answered according to the power at work in us. Glory!

INSTRUCTION: There is power at work in you, make it available in prayers!

CONFESSION: I declare that I grow in the revelation of my realities in redemption, in Jesus Name, Amen.

QUOTE: Prayers are answered according to the power at work in us.
